Ladies who BRUNCH...

March 19, 2017

Last Friday, I was kindly invited along by Brunch to try their menu which I was really happy about considering I have been passing it on my bus home from work for a while now and desperately wanted to try it out for myself. Brunch is situated on George the IV Bridge, so only a hop, skip and a jump away from the Royal Mile, this said they could over charge for their menu but they certainly don't. I went along with Hayley from @whathayleydidtoday, a fellow blogger which was really lovely.

We had booked a table for 10am and bagged the window seat, woop. The menu had some rather mouth-watering choices, but I just to try their bennys. You can order your standard eggs benedict, so an english muffin and hollandaise sauce but you can choose to add either 1, 2 or 3 toppings and their is quite a long list of options including chorizo, avocado etc.  It was nice that you could choose your toppings, I had never seen this done before on a brunch menu. I picked salmon and wilted spinach for my toppings, which is a winning combination if I do say so myself.

However, it was a tough choice when I saw they had french toast on the menu, I'll get that the next time. We both ordered orange juices, which were served in lovely mason jars with handles, which was a nice touch. Our food came pretty quickly and the staff members serving us were really lovely.

Now for the eggs benedict, they were beautifully done. The eggs were poached to perfection, with a decent sized portion of salmon (sometimes the amount of salmon with eggs benedict can be stingy), and the wilted spinach was gorgeous. It was large portion, and I even struggled to finish it near the end but I battled through.

Hayley's pancakes looked incredible, three big fluffy American style pancakes with seasonal berries and maple syrup. Hayley said the berry and syrup to pancake ratio was just right and the portion size was huge so much so you couldn't even finish. Other options for toppings for the pancakes included banana and bacon.

Thank you to Brunch for your invite, it was really enjoyable and I would highly recommend Brunch to those looking for an affordable, yet high quality brunch near the city centre.
